I am a full-time freelance writer specializing in nonfiction for young readers. I also work my ass off as Chris Crutcher's assistant -- helping to keep his calendar streamlined, coordinating some of his PR, helping however I can to make it easier for him to touch lives. I have lived in Spokane, Washington for about six years. Prior to that, I lived in Colorado for 12, California before that, and before that I was an IBM kid -- moving from place to place to place. But I was born in Texas and still have a Lone Star leaning, from time to time, not counting George W. Bush (the worst president in this nation's history). I'm an unapologetic liberal, but I embrace each issue as if I were a libertarian. I believe in a forgiving universe that gives us as many chances as we need to learn the lessons life has to offer. I believe in the supreme fairness of relativity. I believe in treating people with kindness or walking away. But I'm learning to be angry when it's right to hit back. Chris Crutcher is my best friend and my hero. But I am learning to be my own hero too. My two daughters are everything to me and always come first. They've taught me what truth and love means.
